Privacy →Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to play?
No. Brick Ricochet has no accounts, sign-up or login; download it and play right away. Your device’s Game Center account is used only for the world ranking, and only if you choose to.
How do I aim and shoot? What do the bricks, +1 ball, laser and bomb do?
Press anywhere on the screen and pull your finger down (like a slingshot): the balls fly in the opposite direction of your pull. Let go to shoot; a very short pull cancels the shot. The aim line shows the first hit and bounce. Every time a ball hits a brick, the number on it goes down by one; at zero the brick breaks. After each turn all bricks move down a row; if a brick overflows the bottom row, the game is over and your score is the round you reached. Every row has a “+1 ball” pickup: collect it and you fire one more ball in later rounds. A laser damages a row or column, a bomb damages the 3x3 area around it, coins pile up for the shop, and triangle bricks bounce balls at 45 degrees.
Can I speed up the shots or recall my balls?
Yes. While the balls are flying, tap the speed button at the bottom right to fast-forward the shot to x2 and x3 (it returns to x1 when the round ends). If a round takes longer than a few seconds, a “Recall” button appears at the bottom left: it brings the flying balls back at once. You can pause the game with the button at the top right.
Where is my progress stored? What happens if I delete the app or switch devices?
Your best score, gold, shop items, achievements and settings are stored only on your device; they are not tied to an account or a server. If you delete the app, this data is deleted too and cannot be recovered except by restoring a device backup. There is no button to move progress from one device to another: if you set up a new device from your old device’s backup (iCloud or a computer), your progress may come along to the extent the app’s data is included in that backup, but we cannot guarantee it. If you simply download the app on the new device, you start from scratch.
What happens to a game I leave unfinished?
An unfinished game is saved together with the balls in the air; it is not lost even if iOS closes the app in the background. The game pauses by itself when the app goes to the background. From the main menu, tap “Continue” to pick up where you left off, or “New game” to start over.
How do I continue after the game ends? What is the difference between continuing with gold and with an ad?
When the game ends you can continue once per game: the “Continue” button spends gold (the cost is shown on the button), while the “Continue · Watch ad” button is free (you watch a short ad). Both use the same chance; once one is used the other disappears. After you continue, the bottom rows are cleared and the game goes on. If you have bought the “Free second chance” ability in the shop, one continue per game is already free; in that case the continue-with-ad button is hidden.
How do I change the sound, vibration or language?
Tap the gear icon at the bottom of the main menu to open Settings. Use the Sound and Vibration sliders to set the level, or drag a slider all the way to the left to turn it off. Brick Ricochet opens in your device’s language, or in English if your language is not supported. To change it, pick a language from the Language list in Settings; your choice is saved. The game is available in 73 languages.
Why do I see ads? How do they work?
Brick Ricochet is free and supported by ads, which are served by Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are optional: they open only if you tap a button labelled “Watch ad” or marked with a play (▶) icon, and in return give you a free continue when a game ends, double the gold you earned in a game (×2) or free gold in the shop; ×2 is offered only if you earned enough gold in the game, and the shop’s free gold has a waiting time and a daily limit. An occasional full-screen ad may appear between games, when a game has ended and you start a new one; no ads are ever shown during play. If a rewarded ad is not ready (for example when you are offline), the related buttons are hidden and the game is not affected.
How do I reopen the ad consent form or change my tracking choice?
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and similar regions, Google’s consent form is shown. To change your choice later, tap Settings › Privacy settings in the game; this button appears only in regions where consent is required. You can change the iOS tracking permission at any time under your device’s Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; if you do not allow tracking, ads are not personalized and the game works exactly the same. See the privacy page for details.
How do I join the world leaderboard? Why is my score missing?
The Leaderboard screen shows your best games on this device. The world ranking runs on Apple Game Center: if you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone or iPad, your best score is submitted to Apple and the “World ranking” button on the Leaderboard screen opens the Game Center ranking. If you are not signed in, that button is hidden; sign in to Game Center in iOS Settings and your pending record is submitted once you do.
I found a bug or have a suggestion. How do I report it?
Write to support@mgumrah.com. Briefly describe your device model (iPhone/iPad), your iOS version and what happened, and add a screenshot if you can. You can also send us translation mistakes and feature ideas at the same address.
Shop
Does the game have real-money purchases? How do I earn gold?
Not at the moment. Brick Ricochet is free and offers no real-money purchases. Balls, brick color palettes, background themes and permanent abilities (long aim, magnet, free second chance, gold boost) in the shop are bought with in-game gold. You earn gold from the rounds you complete, from the coins you collect, through achievements, with the daily reward, or by watching an optional ad.
I bought something in the shop by mistake. Can I get it back?
Purchases in the shop are confirmed with two taps. If you still bought something by mistake, tap the “Sell” button on the Shop screen, then tap the item and tap again to confirm: you sell it back for half its price. Default items and items unlocked by achievements cannot be sold.
